01 · Overview

The health practice area

Rural Chhattisgarh has one of India's lowest doctor-to-patient ratios. The nearest hospital can be hours away. Meer Foundation's health practice area addresses this through two parallel tracks: daily wellness practice (Yoga Kutumb) and emergency-response literacy (8 awareness PDFs).

Our mission

Make holistic wellness and emergency-response literacy accessible to every rural household — regardless of distance from a hospital or ability to pay.

Our approach

Train rural women as certified yoga instructors. They lead free weekly sessions in their own villages. Pair wellness with emergency PDFs in local languages.

Our impact

180+ free sessions every month. 40+ certified instructors. 8 emergency modules distributed across 12 districts. 200-hour certification programme.

04 · Awareness

Why rural health literacy matters

India's rural ambulance response time averages 45 minutes. In tribal Chhattisgarh it can exceed 90. Knowing what to do in those first 90 minutes — between the event and the hospital — is the difference between life and death.
