EduSuTo — Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow
An initiative with two programmes: Climate Change: Carbon Capture & Storage (flagship certification course) and Prayaas Online (digital learning platform).
Certification programmes in climate change, carbon capture, sustainable development, and CSR. Combining academic rigour with real-world application — designed for students, professionals, and grassroots practitioners.
What is EduSuTo?
EduSuTo (Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow) is Meer Foundation's educational initiative designed to build practical knowledge and skills in sustainability, climate action, and future-oriented development. It bridges academic learning with real-world application.
Our mission
Build capacity in climate science, carbon management, and sustainable development for students, professionals, and grassroots practitioners across India.
Our approach
Combine academic rigour with field-based learning. Every course includes real-world case studies, mentor support, and a capstone project.
Our impact
180+ alumni across 3 cohorts. 12 CCS capstone projects. 4 free awareness courses reaching 2,000+ rural practitioners.
Outcome guarantee. Complete the capstone to receive a verifiable certificate. If your project does not pass panel review, you may re-attempt once at no extra cost.
Available courses
Five certification programmes ranging from foundational to advanced. All courses are paid — but 4 free awareness courses are also available (see Resource Library below).
Climate Change: Carbon Capture & Storage
Mentor-led certification covering climate science, carbon capture technologies, transport, storage, and cluster-based project development. Capstone required.
Certificate in Sustainable Development
Foundational course on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, sustainability principles, and how they apply to rural Indian contexts.
Diploma in Environmental Education
Comprehensive diploma for educators and practitioners. Covers environmental science, pedagogy, curriculum design, and field-based learning.
PG Certificate in Climate Action
Postgraduate-level certificate on climate policy, adaptation, mitigation, and community-based climate action planning.
Foundation Course in CSR & Sustainability

The flagship Climate Change: Carbon Capture & Storage certification runs over 12 weeks with 5 modules and a capstone. Expand each module to see topics covered.
Atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, biosphere, lithosphere; radiative forcing and feedback loops.
CO2, CH4, N2O, fluorinated gases; GWP; IPCC AR6 carbon budgets.
Temperature records, ice cores, sea level rise, extreme weather attribution.
Detailed module breakdown
Each module includes learning objectives, key concepts, downloadable materials, and a practice quiz. Click a module card to expand.
- Earth's climate system. Atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, biosphere, lithosphere; radiative forcing and feedback loops.
- Greenhouse gases & radiative balance. CO2, CH4, N2O, fluorinated gases; GWP; IPCC AR6 carbon budgets.
- Observational evidence. Temperature records, ice cores, sea level rise, extreme weather attribution.
- Post-combustion capture. Amine scrubbing, membrane separation, solid sorbents; energy penalty.
- Pre-combustion & oxy-fuel. Gasification, water-gas shift, oxy-combustion cycles.
- Direct Air Capture (DAC). Liquid solvent and solid sorbent DAC; energy and cost trajectories.
- Pipeline & ship transport. Compressed CO2 logistics; phase behaviour; network design.
- Geological storage. Saline aquifers, depleted oil & gas fields, basalt mineralisation.
- MRV. Geophysical, geochemical, atmospheric monitoring; blockchain-enabled systems.
- Industrial cluster mapping. Identifying emission sources, shared infrastructure, capture-ready opportunities.
- Techno-economic modelling. CAPEX, OPEX, LCOE, carbon abatement cost; sensitivity analysis.
- Stakeholder & policy design. Permitting, community engagement, carbon credits, government schemes.
- Project brief. Design a cluster-based CCS project for an assigned industrial region in India.
- Mentored execution. Weekly reviews with domain mentors; modelling tools and reference datasets.
- Certification & showcase. Project defence before an expert panel; verifiable certification on completion.

Why sustainable education matters
Sustainable education builds the knowledge, skills, and values needed to achieve the SDGs. It is not just about climate science — it is about empowering communities to shape their own future.
The Paris Agreement aims to limit warming to 1.5°C. We are currently on track for 2.7°C.
EduSuTo ensures inclusive, equitable quality education and promotes lifelong learning.
Builds capacity in climate science, mitigation, adaptation, and impact reduction.
Enables green skills and future livelihood opportunities in sustainability sectors.

Student testimonials
What our alumni say about EduSuTo.
“EduSuTo's CCS course is the only certification in India I have found that combines rigorous climate science with cluster-based project development. My capstone became my employer's first CCS pilot.”
“The mentor support was exceptional. Weekly reviews kept me on track and the capstone defence was rigorous but fair. I now lead CCS strategy at my firm.”
“As a grassroots practitioner, I was worried the course would be too technical. Module 1 brought everyone up to speed and the field-based approach made it accessible.”
“The blockchain-enabled MRV module was eye-opening. We're now implementing similar systems in our own carbon offset projects.”
